A road trip with your partner, your significant other, and her significant other. What could go wrong? If the reason Jake invited both Sophia and Amy’s boyfriend, Teddy, was to prevent Jake from thinking about Amy “romantic-stylez,” he might have to try a little harder.
We have been to this rodeo before. Two couples enter a B&B, chances are one of them won’t survive the trip. Granted, Eva Longoria’s character arc only has one more episode after tonight, so we could assume Jake and Sophia won’t be an item for much longer. But, because we don’t often see Teddy on-screen (this will be the first time this season), there is a chance Amy and Teddy break up, too.
But while the four are away, it seems like the detectives of the Nine-Nine try to help one another. For Terry and Gina, that’s helping Rosa come to terms with her sickness. For Charles, it’s helping Captain Holt learn how to cook the perfect breakfast.
The synopsis for ‘Road Trip’ reveals some potential awkwardness:
“In an attempt to add a touch of romance to their work trip, Jake invites his girlfriend, Sophia (guest star Eva Longoria), as well as Amy’s boyfriend, Teddy (guest star Kyle Bornheimer), to join them at a B&B. Meanwhile, Rosa adamantly refuses to admit to Terry and Gina that she is sick, and Charles is eager to help Holt with his anniversary breakfast in the all-new ‘The Road Trip’ episode of BROOKLYN NINE-NINE airing Sunday, November 30 at 8:30 p.m. on Fox.”
