Tonight, Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 2, episode 3, “The Jimmy Jab Games,” aired, and let’s just say Peralta and the rest of the Nine-Nine were in rare form. Check out our recap of the episode!

The Nine-Nine is on motorcade duty as the Serbian President is due to land in NYC, but the plane has been delayed a minimum of three hours. The delay means one thing… The Jimmy Jab Games!

The Jimmy Jab Games began in 2008 when the President of Iran came to NYC and the Nine-Nine was on call for nine hours just in case there were protests. Jake spent a good portion of that night tossing pieces of bagel into Scully’s open mouth, thus birthing the games.

Jake, who believes he is over his crush on Santiago, makes a bet with Rosa that if he wins the games she will give him her friend, Katie’s number. If Rosa wins, Jake will give her $200 and will never ask her for another phone number again.

While Peralta and the gang are prepping themselves to begin the Jimmy Jab Games, Holt has dragged Terry into helping him defeat Deputy Chief Wuntch by getting a drug task force to fight against the Gigglepig problem in the Nine-Nine. Holt and Terry leave the precinct and all hell breaks loose.

The winner of the games will get the only decent office chair in the precinct with working wheels and minimal stains. Talk about a trophy. The first event involves them eating as much month-old Chinese food as they can muster. Boyle is the first eliminated, but nobody gets very far. Except for Scully, who is happily munching away on his free noodles. Moments later, Scully is out with food poisoning. Go figure.

Boyle uses his valuable time to try to get the tape he left in the department camera that has some incriminating evidence that he and Gina have been secretly hooking up. Suffice it to say, Hitchcock is the one with the camera, and if he discovers what is on that tape, there will be no longer be anything secret about Gina and Boyle’s affair.

After losing the Undercover challenge, Rosa asks Jake if he wants to call off the bet because he clearly still has feelings for Amy. Jake insists that he is totally over Santiago, and accepts Rosa’s challenge of not flirting with Amy while still beating her to win the Jimmy Jab Games.

Holt and Terry use a colon/semi-colon ruse to get Wuntch to dismiss their request for a task force, only to take the problem over her head to her superior. After a little back and forth, Holt wins out and is awarded the funds he needs to start fighting the Gigglepig drug epidemic in Brooklyn.

Back at the precinct, Amy uses the Winchester 2000 prize-chair to win the final event of the Jimmy Jabs. Just as she grabs her winning print out, Holt and Terry re-enter the precinct, and wonder what the heck is going on. Rosa fills them in, and no harm is done.

Jake reveals that he helped Santiago win, as he kept the elevator open rather than closing it in her face when he could have. He admits to Rosa that he isn’t over Amy. Rosa takes pity on a pining Peralta and gives him Katie’s number anyway. She tells him that the only way to get over someone is to put yourself out there.

Boyle successfully gets the tape back after a rather childish fight between him and Hitchcock. The secret is safe for another week!

Terry suggests to Holt that due to Rosa’s honesty about the Jimmy Jab Games, she will make an excellent leader of the new task force. After a bit of chatter about how Holt has been preoccupied with destroying Deputy Chief Wuntch, the Captain agrees.
