‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ season 2, episode 22 recap

Gina’s preoccupation with her phone inspires Peralta to challenge all the other detectives to a distract-Gina-from-her-phone contest. Whomever is the first to accomplish the task wins the pot.

Boyle, Peralta, Santiago, and Rosa fail in spectacular fashion. However, Terry’s genius plan to change his relationship status on Facebook to “It’s Complicated” did the trick… but resulted in him getting an angry phone call from his wife. Whoops.

A member of the Fulton Street Four, responsible for stealing 21 million dollars from an armored car heist, turns up dead and Peralta thinks this could be his chance to jump out of a chopper action movie style.

Terry asks the remaining detectives for help schmoozing a local magnate preschool that he wants his twins to attend. Everybody’s on board to give it their very best.

Let the schmoozing begin! Gina sets her sights on a couple of kids that don’t get along, while Santiago tells the teacher exactly what she wants to hear.

Wuntch gives the Nine-Nine her full support, and Holt is flabbergasted. This cannot be right. Clearly she has something else in mind, but for now, all Holt can do is go along with Peralta’s plan.

Peralta chooses a suspect and heads out to find out if he’s one of two things: 1) guilty of the first two murders or 2) the real murderer’s final target. Holt insists on coming along to thwart Wuntch’s hopes of watching them fail this case.

At the precinct, the kids are helping solve some crimes and Terry has a chance to talk up his twins to the teacher. And then, Santiago tries to share her own interests with the kids, and fails, so she falls back to the “show them a picture of a dead body” plan.

Peralta, Boyle, and Holt storm the known Brooklyn address for Bledsoe (one of the remaining Fulton Street Four), and find him locked in a closet’s fake wall. Peralta calls for the chopper to get them to the new location, stat!

Terry has the teacher won over, but when he walks into the briefing room to find the kids looking at a massive amount of dead bodies, the jig is up.

Back at the Nine-Nine, Santiago and Rosa show that while, yes, they showed the kids dead bodies, they also taught them some interesting information about detective work. Oh, and Gina brought peace between a couple of feuding girls. Cagney and Lacey are in. Victory, Jeffords!

On location, Peralta and Holt get a team and converge on the barn. They find their suspect — dead. Bledsoe played them. Peralta calls to make sure Bledsoe is still in custody, but he escaped the cracker-jack team of officers guarding his hospital room.

Holt is more angry than they’ve ever seen him. He’s completely over the politics of what Wuntch may be planning, and he jumps wholeheartedly into Peralta’s game. They hunt down Bledsoe and find him trying to empty out the vault where they hid the 21 million dollars. Bingpot! Victory is theirs! But, wait, this was Wuntch’s plan all along. She’s making Holt head of PR and taking him away from the Nine-Nine. NO!
