After being unceremoniously canceled at Fox, Brooklyn Nine-Nine not only found new life at NBC but is renewed for a seventh season.

These days, it’s not unheard of for a fan campaign to save a show from cancellation, either urging the network to renew the show for another season, or urging another network to pick it up. The latter happened to Brooklyn Nine-Nine after Fox axed the show. Huge fan outcry showed NBC that we weren’t ready to say goodbye to our friends at the Nine-Nine, and the show was saved.

Happily, not only is Brooklyn Nine-Nine surviving at NBC, it appears to be thriving. According to Variety, the show has officially been renewed for season 7. Variety reports that the show is pulling in 3.9 million viewers, and has a 1.4 rating among viewers in the 18-49 demographic, a stronger showing than its final season on Fox.

For NBC’s part, the show is doing great things for the network. Brooklyn Nine-Nine is drawing in 45% of its key demographic from non-linear sources (which means viewers coming to the show via Hulu or watching On Demand). Variety reports that is the highest percentage among NBC shows.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine has proven to be such an amazing show to have on television, not only boasting a racially diverse cast, but also showing some of the best LGBTQIA+ representation on network television. The stories told on the show are funny, engaging, and yet tell important and poignant stories like the episode chronicling Rosa coming out to her parents or Terry getting arrested on his own street by a racist cop.

We’re so glad NBC has decided to further invest in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and we can’t wait to see what adventures Jake Peralta and the rest of the Nine-Nine get into in season 7. If you’re behind on the show, you can catch up on Hulu or watch the show live, Thursdays on NBC.
