In a surprisingly honest interview on a local radio station this morning, Britney Spears admits that her “Work Bitch” music video was at one point much more sexual than the final cut and she insisted on removing parts.

Speaking to The TJ Show on Boston’s AMP 103.3 Thursday morning, Spears was open about her people pressuring her to be as risqué as possible to appeal to the masses.

“Oh my god, we showed way more skin and did way more stuff for the video than what is actually there. Like, I cut out half the video because I am a mother and because, you know, I have children, and it’s just hard to play sexy mom while you’re being a pop star as well,” she said.

She also said she wouldn’t mind returning to the style of her older videos which she seems to think weren’t as sexual. “A lot of sex goes into what I do. But sometimes I would like to bring it back to the old days when there was like one outfit through the whole video, and you’re dancing the whole video, and there’s like not that much sex stuff going on,” she said to The TJ Show.

When asked by the host, “Are they pushing you further than you wanna go and then you sit in the editing room and say, ‘No that has to go’?” Britney laughed and responded with a coy, “Yes.”

We certainly see Spears’ point about being a mother, but as she alludes to, her audience demands a return to the “classic” Britney that they fell in love with. That, unfortunately for her, requires acting younger than she is.
