The rollercoaster ride that has been Britney Spears’ life will be documented in a new TV movie by Lifetime, the network announced today.

Natasha Bassett will star in the new Britney Spears TV movie, which Lifetime says will have a two-hour running time and air in 2017. It begins shooting in Vancouver next month.

The movie is almost certainly unauthorized.

According to a description over at THR, the Britney Spears Lifetime movie will “follow Spears’ early career as a young girl from Louisiana, relationship and breakup with Justin Timberlake as well as her personal struggles following her parents’ divorce.”

“Also set to be examined are her marriages to Jason Alexander, Kevin Federline and her downfall that saw her lose custody of her sons before she rebuilt her career and proved herself to be a force in entertainment.”

News of the movie comes just a couple days before Britney releases her next studio album, Glory (which leaked online late last week).

Britney will also appear on this Thursday’s Late Late Show with James Corden for their popular Carpool Karaoke segment. Interestingly, according to a teaser trailer, Britney won’t be karaoke-ing. At least, she won’t be for 100% of it.

Bassett — whose age is not listed on IMDB or Wikipedia — starred in this year’s Hail, Caesar!
