The Met Gala is every fashionista’s favourite day of the year.

The annual Costume Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art sees the hottest of Hollywood out to shine on the red carpet. Stars including Shailene Woodley, Beyonce, and Lupita Nyong’o did their best to embody this year’s theme of “White Tie.” The annual fundraiser benefits the Met’s Costume Institute, and is overseen by Vogue‘s Anna Wintour.

The flexible Met Gala red carpet theme allowed the stars to interpret it on their own terms, which resulted in a a range of styles (and hemlines!). It was similarly exciting to see the men try something new, as they are typically left out of the red carpet fun.

Whether these looks took your breath away because they were so bad, or so so good, they certainly demanded attention. The Met Gala has a more crowed red carpet than the Oscars, so if we left off your favourite look make sure to let us know in the comments.
