According to numerous reports, Whitney Houston has passed away Saturday at the age of 48.

Houston’s publicist Kristen Foster has confirmed the news, but did not specify how the former “Queen of Pop” died. We’ll be sure to keep you updated as this tragic story unfolds.

Houston is a six-time Grammy award winner, and a tribute to the singer/songwriter is expected during tomorrow’s Grammys ceremony. She was also expected to appear at Clive Davis’ annual Grammy party tonight.

Our thoughts and condolences go out to all those who have been touched by Whitney Houston’s immense talent and presence.

UPDATE: CNN is reporting that after talking to Ray J’s publicist, Ray J was NOT the one who found Whitney Houston and that he was no where near the scene.

UPDATE x2: According to the Mark Rosen of the Los Angeles Police Department: Someone within her party contacted the police department at 3:43pm from the Beverly Hilton Hotel. After resuscitation efforts failed, Whitney Houston was pronounced dead at 3:55pm. No obvious signs of criminal intent. She was a guest at the hotel. There is still no sign of whether or not drug use was involved. An investigation is being conducted.
