Breaking Bad’s final eight episodes are upon us, and in a new interview lead star Bryan Cranston hints at two possible season 6 finales.

At a New York Times Talk in Manhattan this week, Cranston – who plays lead good guy turned bad man Walter White – was asked if his character deserves to die.

“I think there’s a good case for that, that maybe that’s a fitful end,” he responded. “And yet what if the thing he wanted the most, which was the togetherness of his family — what if he lived and they didn’t?”

According to EW, a “hush” fell over the crowd when he made that suggestion. “Wouldn’t that be a worse hell to be in?” he added. “Or maybe he should die. I vacillate on this.”

The cast and creator of Breaking Bad have been talking up a grand finale that will make “no apologies,” according to Cranston. It’s very likely that the final eight episodes will be a blood bath involving several beloved characters.

The comments Cranston made above because he specifically mentioned two outcomes. It remains to be seen whether either one of them will come to fruition, or if he’s messing with us and a third outcome will be the true one. It’d be absurd for Cranston to give away the ending before the season even begins, so we suspect that the actor is speaking in very general terms that may be just partially truthful.

Breaking Bad season 6 – otherwise known as season 5B – will commence on Sunday, August 11.

Thanks, EW.
