Breaking Bad creator and showrunner Vince Gilligan will be guest starring in an episode of the upcoming fifth season of Community.

Dan Harmon continues to add to Community season 5’s fascinating list of guest stars. Just a week after announcing that Arrested Development showrunner Mitchell Hurwitz would be guest starring in the upcoming season, Harmon has now added his second creator of a TV classic in Breaking Bad‘s Vince Gilligan.

Gilligan has no acting experience, unless you count the time Stephen Colbert chained him in the Colbert Report basement to write another season of Breaking Bad.

According to EW, Gilligan will play a “smooth-talking gold digger” who gets in the middle of a fight between Annie and Abed. We can’t speak to Gilligan’s acting chops but he makes sense for the smooth-talking gold digger role based on his mustache alone.

Gilligan’s episode is being filmed now and will likely air in late winter or early spring. It was previously announced that Breaking Bad actor Jonathan Banks will be appearing in 11 of Community’s fifth season’s 13 episodes so it’s likely that Gilligan’s character and Bank’s character can cross paths.

Community marks the third post-Breaking Bad job for Vince Gilligan, who will also produce spin-off Better Call Saul for AMC and Battle Creek for CBS. Gilligan has a lot of creative blank checks after turning in the brilliant Breaking Bad, and continuing to cash them in as guest appearances on our favorite shows would not be a bad move.
