Breaking Bad‘s protagonist antagonist Heisenberg, Bryan Cranston, will be appearing in the final season of How I Met Your Mother, reprising his role as architect Hammond Druthers.

He is the one who knocks…on Ted’s door? Breaking Bad‘s very own Walter White, Bryan Cranston will be reprising his role as architect Hammond Druthers during How I Met Your Mother‘s ninth and final season.

Cranston first appeared as Druthers, Ted Mosby’s incompetent architect boss in the show’s second season in 2007. This was before Breaking Bad had even aired and Cranston was only known as “the dad from Malcolm in the Middle.”

Druthers was last seen being rolled out of his office in a stretcher following a heart attack, divorce and being fired by Ted in quick succession. Bryan Cranston’s characters really don’t have an easy time of things…

No word yet on when his character will actually appear. Since season 9 takes place entirely at Barney and Robin’s wedding it stands to reason that he’s been invited or at the very least drunkenly crashing it.

How I Met Your Mother will be Cranston’s first post-Breaking Bad TV appearance but he’s already nailed down several film roles including Godzilla and Get a Job, and, of course, the Man of Steel sequel as Lex Luthor if the internet gets its way.
