Bradley Cooper, who starred in the original Limitless movie, has boarded the TV adaptation in a recurring role.

Limitless perhaps isn’t the first movie you’d consider adapting for television, and yet the upcoming CBS series of the same name looks surprisingly promising.

Starring Jake McDorman (Greek), Jennifer Carpenter and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, the Limitless TV series sounds a lot like the movie.

The synopsis reads, “A man gains the ability to use the full extent of his brain’s capabilities,” and although the circumstances are different for McDorman’s Brian Sinclair, it all sounds awfully similar to what happened to Bradley Cooper’s Eddie Morra in 2011 when he, too, began taking the NZT drug.

That’s why it makes total sense for Cooper to reprise his role as Eddie in the CBS series, his character set to recur and serve as a mentor of sorts to Brian.

Because of the brain-boosting drug, Eddie is now a presidential hopeful, while Brian’s new skills are discovered by the FBI, and he is coerced into helping them solve complex cases. But Brian maintains a connection to Eddie, who has very different plans for how they should be using their abilities…

Deadline further adds that Cooper has filmed scenes for the pilot episode (directed by Marc Webb), and will appear on the series “as often as his schedule allows.”

Although Bradley Cooper is now a big Hollywood actor with several Oscar nominations to his name, Limitless isn’t the only old project he’s returning to.

Later this year, Cooper will reprise his role from the 2001 movie Wet Hot American Summer (one of his first ever Hollywood jobs), for the TV series of the same name.

While most know Cooper from The Hangover movies, one of his big breaks actually came on the television series Alias, where he starred opposite Jennifer Garner.

It’s nice to see that he’s still interested in TV projects!
