Basically all you need to know about Boy Toy by Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby is that the authors issued a warning that there’s already a line to claim Liam! And it’s going to become a very long line! 😉

I didn’t realize this in the first book, but The Man Hands series is turning out to be a truly remarkable set of novels. Each book is both hilarious and wonderfully tackles and takes down social norms.

The first book Man Hands shows how a curvy, big boobed, hips for days heroine can be just as sexy as the rest of them. And can navigate the horrors of being made into a spectacle thanks to the internet all while climbing to the top of her career and landing her dream guy.

The second book Man Card was some glorious enemies to lovers storytelling that had me laughing all throughout the novel. But more importantly, the novel showed that men can be in touch with their feminine sides and be just as manly as the rest of the guys.

Now Boy Toy shows that being a mom doesn’t mean you lose all of your sexy, or feel guilted into giving up your career. It also takes the nanny/childcare trope and reversed the sexes. Because the hero in this story is at his sexiest when he’s taking care of the twins of the heroine. He’s a daycare teacher and he’s studying for his Ph.D. in childhood development.

Even though Boy Toy does take on some serious topics, there’s no mistaking this novel for a romantic comedy. Somehow Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby perfectly walk the line of being silly and thoughtful.

The novel begins with Sadie Matthews trying to come to terms with the fact that she’s going to start bringing her kids to daycare. After a string of bad nannies, including the one that slept with her now ex-husband, she’s going to reluctantly try daycare.

She’s ready for the worst, but what she’s not ready for is to find out that Liam McAllister is going to be taking care of her kids. She doesn’t recognize the boy she used to babysit, because he’s grown up and really filled out in all the areas that matter.

It turns out that Liam is a lifesaver. Yes, he totally throws her off kilter with his fit body and steamy looks, but he gives her girls the attention that they never got from their troublesome father.

Liam even steps in to babysit when Sadie is ready to dip into the dating pool. And when that doesn’t go so well, he’s there to let Sadie know about all of the dirty thoughts that have been running through his mind since they first met when he was 14.

Let’s talk about 14-year-old Liam. He’s actually the comic relief throughout the novel, as he pops in and out of Liam’s mind frame. Instead of a regular inner monologue, Liam’s is a horny teenage boy – and it’s fucking hilarious. Like when Sadie tells Liam she has a confession and 14-year-old Liam reacts with, “Please say you want to touch my boner! Pleeeeeeeeeease!”

Of course, it takes Sadie some time to come to terms with her attraction to Liam. For one thing, there’s the judgmental looks to deal with from anyone that would want to claim she’s a cougar.

Secondly, Sadie is still dealing with all of the awful things her ex-husband said about her post-baby body. And thirdly, there’s the whole twins situation.

Sadie’s twins love Liam, maybe a little too much. And she worries about how they might get attached to him only for Liam to leave. To be fair, Sadie knows going into things that Liam is planning on studying overseas as part of his Ph. D. so she’s not just making things up about him leaving.

But it does add an extra level of trickiness that does start to hurt Liam’s feelings a bit. Yes that’s right, men have feelings too.

There’s plenty of complications for these two to overcome and it all feels organic and exceptionally written. If you want to find out more about what happens between Liam and Sadie you’ll just have to pick up the novel for yourself! (And I highly recommend that you do that…like as soon as it comes out.)

I’m not sure if these ladies are planning on adding another book to the series or not since the group of girlfriends are now all shacked up. But I would love, love, love to see more from this author team. I’m simply obsessed with this match up!
