Boy Meets World stars Rider Strong (Shawn Hunter), Will Friedle (Eric Matthews) and Maitland Ward (Rachel McGuire) reunited for the first day of shooting on the Disney Channel’s Girl Meets World.

The trio of former on-screen roommates visited the set of the upcoming spinoff and met with the show’s youngest cast members – Rowan Blanchard, who will be playing Riley Matthews, and Sabrina Carpenter, Riley’s best friend Maya. And there’s photographic proof!

Ward posted these gems to Instagram Wednesday night:

Blanchard also Instagrammed a picture of herself with co-star Carpenter and her “Uncle Shawn” and “Uncle Eric.”

Actor Ben Savage (Cory Matthews) treated fans to a peek at the set on Tuesday night. Taken from a studio audience seat, the picture shows a classroom on the stage (possibly Cory’s?).

Although Strong and Friedle have no official involvement with the show so far, Executive Producer Michael Jacobs has said he is open to having former BMW cast members guest star on GMW.

Speaking to Comics Online Wednesday, Friedle wasn’t so sure about reprising the role of Eric Matthews, however.

“I [had] an amazing time doing Boy Meets World, I really did,” the 36-year-old actor said. “It was one of the highlights of my life, and seven years I’ll never forget. And I want to remember it exactly as it was. So we’re certainly going to be there on the set with them and supportive in every possible way that we can, but as for actually going back and reprising the character…it’s tough, I really don’t know.”

UPDATE: On Day 2 of filming, Danielle Fishel (Topanga) tweeted this picture:

Girl Meets World is expected to premiere on the Disney Channel during the 2013-2014 season.
