Moviegoers looking forward to Universal and DreamWorks’ Boss Baby sequel will have to wait a bit longer than expected before they can head out to theaters to watch it.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal has opted to shift the release date of The Boss Baby: Family Business from March 26, 2021 to September 17, 2021.
The new release date for the animated sequel comes as most major studios are looking to shuffle around their previously planned out release slates due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The pandemic, has of course, forced theaters to remain shuttered in addition to affecting production timelines, both of which have been responsible for release date change ups across the board.

As for Boss Baby 2, the DreamWorks title announced earlier this year that it had recruited a slew of notable names to lend their voices to the sequel, which finds Alec Baldwin retuning to voice the titular tyke, Ted.
Others set to join Baldwin in Family Business include actors Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic World: Domination), Eva Longoria (Together Now), James Marsden (Mrs. America), Amy Sedaris (Bojack Horseman), and Ariana Greenblatt (The One and Only Ivan).
In addition to Baldwin, actors Lisa Kudrow and Jimmy Kimmel are also back on board to reprise their roles as baby Ted’s parents.
