Another animated comedy out of the minds of Family Guy‘s Seth MacFarlane and Mark Hentemann is coming to Fox, the network announced Friday evening.

Bordertown was conceived by Hentemann and is executive produced by he and MacFarlane. The show follows “two families living in a Southwest desert town on the U.S.-Mexico border” and has a 13-episode order.

The show’s synopsis says that Bordertown “will take a satirical look at the cultural shifts occurring throughout America. Set in a fictitious desert town near the Mexico border, the series centers on the intertwining daily lives of two neighbors: BUD BUCKWALD and ERNESTO GONZALES. Married and a father of three, Bud is a Border Patrol agent who feels threatened by the cultural changes that have transformed his neighborhood. Living next door to Bud is Ernesto, an industrious Mexican immigrant and father of four, who is proud to be making it in America. As Bud and Ernesto’s paths begin to cross, their families become bound by friendship, romance and conflict.”

The premise sounds interesting and we’re compelled by the comedy’s geographical setting. Look for it on Fox during the 2014-2015 season.

Bordertown arrives in the wake of MacFarlane’s The Cleveland Show (a Family Guy spinoff) which ended in May after four seasons.

Family Guy still performs well for Fox, but his other animated comedy American Dad is on the way out following its tenth season on the network. It will move to TBS for an eleventh season next year.
