Bones reminded us all of the power of having someone who believes in you. And the power of Twitter! Read on for the full recap!

The death of a beloved teacher struck home for one of our own at the lab. Let’s dig in.

After the remains of a teacher are found in an abandoned bookstore, Caroline Julian returns to the show to make sure the case is handled sensitively, to which Booth promises it will be. The school the teacher worked at has had a hard time with its image lately. Keeping kids in school is hard enough and if the murder sheds a bad light on the school that will be bad for everyone involved.

Our teacher was murdered then shoved in a locker at the school until the murderer could move the body. Bones and Aubrey take the janitor into custody. We find out the dead teacher supported the janitor, who couldn’t get a job elsewhere because of his record. Then we find out that the older brother of one of her students was involved in a knife incident with her. She found out that her student was skipping school to help get money for the family. She picked up the knife, cutting her hand, and threatened that if he didn’t come back to class she would tell everyone the older brother attacked her. It worked and Bones and Caroline need another suspect.

The murderer turns out to be another top teacher at the school, her direct rival it turns out. He changed answers on a standardized test so that he would come out ahead of her. He had an interview coming up and was falsifying results to give him an edge in the interview. She found out and he killed her.

The sub-plot of the episode is Brennan’s Twitter account. Her publisher wants her to connect on a more personal level with her fans, especially in between book releases. Did anyone else forget that Bones is an author? We did! Anyways, after a disappointing ten followers she asks squintern Jessica to help her out with her account. A few selfies later, and Brennan has over a thousand followers! For some reason, Angela decides to put the kibosh on Jessica helping Brennan. Since when did Angela become such a stick in the mud? She is really awful lately.

At home, Bones and Booth discuss Christine’s new school updates, her homework. Bones has a Twitter update as well: she is back to running her own account and her most recent tweet is about Caroline’s program for the schools. She is also up to over 3000 followers and shares a photo of the dinner Booth cooked for them. Who wouldn’t want to follow Bones’ Twitter?!

Caroline ends up taking the two brother out for dinner to tell them that another teacher won’t be able to be sent for another test. However, Caroline is going to tutor them both so that they both have an education. This is a development we can all get behind.
