Bones is finally back after a three month hiatus and we celebrate the life of Sweets. Read on for more!

The squints and FBI are finally back together and in action! There’s no mention of Brennan’s second pregnancy so not sure if that will happen next week but she is definitely showing. (At least in our opinion.) Booth thinks that they indulge Christine’s imagination a bit too much but Bones counters with her usual skepticism of Catholicism. Booth gets a notification from his phone that today is Sweets’ 30th Birthday.

Brennan goes to the Jeffersonian and tells everyone about the reminder which brings a somber mood to the case. When Brennan and Booth figure out where the victim lives, they receive an unexpected surprise guest. Everyone’s favorite psychic Avalon is back and touching all the evidence. But when she tells Booth that she feels like someone is celebrating a birthday, he believes her.

Avalon heads back to the lab and meets up with Angela and Hodgins. When she mentions Sweets to Hodgins, Hodgins gets very upset and tells her to not bring him up. He doesn’t believe in spirits and psychics, which Avalon respects while Angela gets very defensive. When Angela brings it up to Cam, Cam reveals that she doesn’t believe either because of her family history with them she also backs off. Rough day for Angela. Avalon does manage to win over Aubrey and Booth shares the doughnuts for Sweets with him, which is a sweet (no pun intended) gesture.

Avalon spends her time with Angela and she keeps getting messages from Sweets. Angela also finds research on psychics that she gives to Hodgins, who says he will not discount anyone’s beliefs and apologizes to Avalon. She and Angela show up at Booth and Brennan’s home with one last present from Sweets, his book. He took out all the technical stuff and left just the romance story.

In other squinty news, intern Fuentes was acting really suspicious: coming in late, lots of cash stuffed in a backpack, and a delivery. The delivery contains a box filled with pills. He tells Cam that he is sending the pills to a doctor in Cuba that he helps out. The money is to bribe U.S. officials to let the pills go through. Cam has no choice but to terminate him but before she can he leaves. He comes back to tell Bones about a discovery he made in the case and finds out that Bones had Booth take care of it with the FBI. And Cam doesn’t have to fire him!

The case is pretty silly: a woman is found dead in a tree. She is a psychic and a lesbian which led to her having multiple relationships with various women. She couldn’t stay faithful to just one though and it led to her death. One lover hit her in the head with a mallet which didn’t kill her but caused bleeding in the brain. When she went to end the other relationship, a simple shove caused the blood to burst and killing her.
