Academy Award winner Rami Malek could soon be joining the James Bond franchise.

Collider reports that this year’s Best Actor Oscar winner Rami Malek may have already lined up his next big screen role.

The Mr. Robot star is reportedly in talks to join the cast of the next James Bond film, Bond 25.

If the deal goes through, Bond fans could soon see Malek sharing the silver screen with current 007 Daniel Craig as Bond 25’s villain.

Other previously announced cast members set to appear in Bond 25 include Lea Seydoux, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, and Ralph Fiennes. They’re all set to reprise their roles as Madeleine Swann, Eve, Q, and M, respectively.

According to Variety, who was first to report the news, producers had been eyeing the Bohemian Rhapsody star for the role.

The part, however, was never offered due to scheduling conflicts and an overlapping in filming schedules of Bond 25 and the final season of Mr. Robot.

A source close to the project told Collider, however, that arrangements have been made to accommodate shooting schedules on both projects.

As usual, plot and character details for Bond 25 are being kept top secret. Even so, we’ll be curious to know more about what the role will entail if and when Malek officially signs on.

Bond 25 is slated to hit theaters on April 8, 2020.
