Bond 25‘s release date has been pushed back once again. It will now debut two months after its previously scheduled release, in April 2020.

The latest entry into the James Bond franchise has already suffered several setbacks. When director Danny Boyle first exited the movie, Bond 25‘s November 2019 release date was thrown into turmoil, with several outlets reporting that a delay would be coming.

That delay was officially announced when Cary Fukunaga came on board to direct, with a February 14, 2020 date locked in. Now, that release date has been pushed to April 8, 2020, the Wednesday before Easter weekend.

Filming on Bond 25 is set to begin in March. With the new delay, it should provide director Fukunaga, and Eon producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, more time to ensure that they are able to produce the movie to match their vision.

Daniel Craig is returning to the franchise for his fifth outing as Bond. Lea Seydoux was recently confirmed to be reprising her Spectre role as Dr. Madeleine Swann, making her the first ever Bond Girl to do so as the same character. Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, and Ben Whishaw will also reprise their roles from 2015’s Spectre.

Very few details about Bond 25‘s story are currently known, though with filming starting in the next month, it likely won’t be much longer before those details start to trickle out.
