Bond 25 producers officially announced that Rami Malek will play the villain in the latest Bond flick alongside Daniel Craig’s James Bond.

It’s been a long road to get Bond 25 off the ground. With several director changes, Daniel Craig expressing his intense lack of interest in reprising his role as the infamous spy, and more, some Bond fans wondered if the film would even happen.

Happily, it seems like things are moving forward on the film, and Bond producers have made some really exciting announcements regarding Bond 25. Bond producers made casting and filming location announcements via the official Bond Twitter from the iconic location of Ian Fleming’s home in Jamaica.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get a title announcement for the film, but we do know who Craig’s Bond will be facing off against: the one and only Rami Malek.

We don’t know much about Malek’s character, but he did send this video to the press conference, promising to make sure he did everything in his power to make sure Bond didn’t have an “easy ride” in his 25th film.

In addition to announcing Rami Malek’s casting appointment, Bond 25 has also added Ana de Armas, Lashana Lynch, Billy Magnussen, David Dencik, and Dali Benssalah to the cast. Daniel Craig won’t be the only one returning to the franchise, as Ralph Fiennes, Lea Seydoux, Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Rory Kinnear and Ben Whishaw are also reprising their roles.

Bond 25 will reportedly start off in Jamaica where producer Barbara Broccoli says, “Bond is not on active service, he is enjoying himself.” In addition to the Jamaica locale, the film will also shoot at the UK’s Pinewood studio and onto Matera in Italy. The movie has also already shot scenes in Norway.

Despite the bumpy ride at the start, it looks like Bond 25 is shaping up to be another exciting adventure with 007. Bond 25 is set to release in theaters on April 8, 2020.
