Two-time Oscar winner Christoph Waltz has reportedly signed on to join Daniel Craig in Bond 24 as the film’s villain.

After the massive success of Skyfall in 2012, Bond 24 will reunite the great Bond team which includes writer John Logan, director Sam Mendes, and star Daniel Craig.

A tweet from a reputable source confirms the news that Waltz will be joining Bond 24, and The Daily Mail’s Baz Bamigboye released a detailed article which states that Waltz will most likely be playing the sequel’s villain. Check out the tweet below:

Daniel Craig and Logan are confirmed for Bond 25, the film that will be tied to Bond 24 in story arc. Mendes has yet to reveal officially if he’ll return for that film, but it currently looks very likely.

Lea Seydoux and Guardians of the Galaxy’s Dave Bautista are also expected to join the Bond cast too, which should see Seydoux as the femme fatale and Bautista as a henchmen.

Recently, Logan revealed that Bond 24 will follow Skyfall in theme, having said:

“It’s been joyous to pick up from our work on Skyfall and just continue on with the storytelling,” Logan said. “The new movie continues the themes of Skyfall. Some of the characters and themes that we began to introduce in Skyfall will play out, I hope successfully, in the next movie.”

Bond 24 begins filming in December, and we imagine most fans would be ecstatic if Waltz was to join the film in any sort of role.

Lending some credence to this report, Waltz recently dropped out of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, so it looks like this incredibly talented actor could be making Bond 24 even more exciting.

There’s no release date for the film at this time.
