Bombshell isn’t just any Hollywood romance novel, CD Reiss will leave you reeling with emotions with unexpected twists.

About ‘Bombsehell’:

From New York Times bestselling author CD Reiss, a standalone romance about a nanny, a Hollywood star, and a love they never expected.

Hollywood bad boy Brad Sinclair always gets his way, whether it’s the role he wants or the bikini-clad model he has to have. But when a bombshell gets dropped in his lap in the form of a dimpled five-year-old from a forgotten relationship, he knows his life is about to change forever.

Cara DuMont isn’t exactly thrilled when she gets assigned to be the nanny for the latest box-office king. She has one rule: no celebrity fathers, especially single ones with devilish good looks and rock-hard abs.

But as soon as Cara meets Brad and his adorable little girl, she knows she’s in for a world of trouble. Because there’s something about the way Brad looks at her that makes her believe that some rules are meant to be broken…

’Bombshell’ review:

This was my first time reading CD Reiss and I was blown away by Bombshell. I’ve always seen people discussing her other novels and I’m so glad I decided to check out her latest work, so much so that I plan on going back and reading her other novels too. Without even going into the plot and characters I just want to acknowledge that CD Reiss is an amazing writer, she could probably write a story I wasn’t that interested in and I would still marvel at the words on the pages.

Given the synopsis, I thought this book would be light and fluffy but it wasn’t really. I wouldn’t necessarily call it dark, but there are some very intense situations and topics dealt with in the novel. Basically, it was a trope that I enjoy reading and was made even more interesting with a different tone than typically seen. Once I had started reading, I didn’t want to put the novel down and kept going until it was finished.

What’s interesting about Bombshell is that Cara and Brad’s personalities unfold throughout the book. Just when you think you have them pegged down, they do something that surprises you. Their backstories are just as interesting as the plot being told and give a deeper meaning to everything that’s going on between them. Plus, there are several twists in the novel that I definite did not expect and that just made the book even harder to put down.

I happen to be a sucker for romance novels with kids in them, but I know that it’s not something everyone likes. This one in particular features many scenes with Brad’s daughter Nicole, she’s an integral part of the story. I loved how she interacted with her father and nannies, it added cuteness to scenes and helped to lighten up the story. Her presence and connection with Cara had me yearning even more to find out how the couple would make things work.

Cara and Brad’s romance isn’t exactly a slow burn, but they definitely don’t just into bed right away. Sometimes it can be frustrating when you want a couple to be together but they won’t admit it to each other, however there’s so much sexual tension in the novel that readers probably won’t even mind the wait.

Bombshell by CD Reiss is available on Amazon U.S. and Amazon U.K., and don’t forget to add it your Goodreads list!
