SNL will be losing one of its most recognizable comedians as Bobby Moynihan has decided to leave the show after nine seasons.

But don’t be too sad — this is not the last time you’ll see the talented actor.

Deadline reports Moynihan’s departure was planned, but confirmed once he joined the comedy Me, Myself and I. At their upfront presentation, CBS confirmed their pickup of the series. The synopsis is fairly straightforward:

The life of a genius inventor is examined in his childhood, today and in the future. Bobby Moynihan, John Laroquette and Jack Dylan Grazer tell the story of Alex Riley. This Fall on CBS.

The season 42 finale airs this Saturday, May 20, at 11:30 p.m. ET with Dwayne Johnson as the host and Katy Perry as the musical guest. It will be Moynihan’s final appearance as a regular cast member.
