Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown died on Sunday after months of health complications stemming from an incident in January.

Update (July 27): Bobby Brown, the father of Bobbi Kristina, has issued a statement about his daughter’s passing. “Krissy was and is an angel. I am completely numb at this time. My family must find a way to live with her in spirit and honor her memory. Our loss is unimaginable. We thank everyone for the prayers for Krissy and our family as we mourn my baby girl.”

Entertainment Tonight reported Sunday evening that Brown had died at the Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Georgia. She was “surrounded by her family” at the time of her passing.

“She is finally at peace in the arms of God,” her family said in a statement. “We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.”

Bobbi Kristina was found unconscious in a bathtub in late January, and her condition had been on the decline ever since. In the months following the incident she needed a ventilator to help her breathe and was later placed in a medically-induced coma. Two months later she was brought to a rehabilitation center and then a hospice in late June.

The singer and actress was the only child of of Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston, the latter of whom died in 2012 following a drowning and drug overdose.

Eerily, Brown’s final tweet — posted two days before she was found unconscious — was a motivational message about getting her career going:

In April, Bobbi Kristina’s grandmother Cissy revealed that the 22-year-old had suffered “global and irreversible brain damage” that she would not be able to recover from. “Meeting with the doctors and understanding that she can live in this condition for a lifetime truly saddens me,” Cissy said. “We can only trust in God for a miracle at this time.”

Bobbi Kristina’s incident occurred nearly three years to the day after her mother’s passing.
