HBO has just announced that Boardwalk Empire season 5 has been greenlit.
“Thanks to Terry Winter, Martin Scorsese, Tim Van Patten, Howard Korder and their stellar team, Boardwalk Empire remains in a class by itself,” said Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. “I look forward to another electrifying season of this impeccably crafted series.”
Boardwalk Empire stars Steve Buscemi in the lead role of Nucky Thompson. The show continues to have strong ratings, with season 4 boasting an average gross audience of 7.5 million viewers.
The show’s fourth season is currently airing on HBO. Boardwalk Empire season 4, episode 4 premieres this Sunday at 9 p.m. eastern/pacific and is titled “All In.”
