This Hypable writer once met the nice folks at the Harry Potter brand management team and were in awe at the level of detail and care they put into their work.

Today an intern at The Blair Partnership blogged about two weeks with the team and shows you just how neat of a job for a Potter fan it is.

The Blair Partnership is the literary agency behind J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series as well as her upcoming book The Casual Vacancy. When it comes to the former, the brand management team goes through every little detail to ensure it’s up to their standards.

Here’s a sample of the interns blog:

On my first day I met the Brand Management team and was immediately set to work sorting through merchandise from the theme park. I was later introduced to some of the finer aspects of this job- the delicate assessment of products and careful control that goes into making sure that The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is an accurate representation of the HP brand. I observed how the team spent their days debating topics such as the exact size of Dobby’s nose and meticulously inspecting the quality of products. I saw some of the items you can buy at the theme park; many of the team have an owl/Pygmy Puff/Hogwarts pin on their desk.

The next morning I met Kat Maher and Sarah Pagett to listen to some recordings for a new, recently announced HP project (fans- you won’t be disappointed). Later on, while sorting through merchandise, I fell in love with a truly beautiful Marauder’s Map. Luckily, no one noticed the tears of sadness as I dutifully packed it away.

On another day I sat in on a meeting between Pottermore (who I would join for work experience in my third week), The Blair Partnership and the artists who produced the Pottermore ‘Moments’. I’ve seen some lovely images for Book 2 of the Pottermore experience and, perhaps most excitingly, I’ve read some incredibly interesting, never-before-seen content written by J.K. Rowling, destined for Pottermore.

What a fantastic opportunity! Read more about her two weeks on The Blair Partnership’s website.
