If you were waiting for a good, long look at Blade Runner 2049 to get excited about a new story set in this familiar world, we finally have it, paired with some incredible commentary from the film’s cast and crew.
A remake or sequel that comes this long after the original is definitely in the hunt for one thing: acknowledgement and/or the blessing of those that came before. Blade Runner 2049 has that in spades, what with the original film’s star happily appearing and the director serving as executive producer.
This video, originally shared by EW, shows that not only do Harrison Ford and Ridley Scott approve of this new addition to the world of Blade Runner, they are happy to help create more in the universe they created so many years ago inspired by Philip K. Dick’s novel.
We hear from not only Ford and Ridley, but also Ryan Gosling and Denis Villeneuve, who have taken the reigns of the franchise as lead actor and director, respectively. We also hear from the film’s Director of Photography, Roger Deakins, as well as numerous other crew members.
Blade Runner 2049 is set to hit theaters October 6, 2017.
