Natasha Romanoff may be laying at the bottom of a valley on Vormir in the present MCU timeline, but fans can see her kick ass one last time in her first solo Black Widow film.

The film is the first — and likely only, unless some mind-bending time travel occurs — Black Widow solo film, despite the character debuting all the way back in 2010 and being an integral part of the Avengers since the first film premiered in 2012.

Fans already know that Natasha Romanoff is dead in the current timeline, having given her life on Vormir in exchange for the Soul Stone, but Black Widow, which is directed by Cate Shortland, will take viewers back in time to the period after the events of Captain America: Civil War.

During that time, we know that Natasha headed out on her own, and this film will chronicle what she did.

Pegged by Marvel Studios as an action-packed spy thriller, Black Widow will focus on Natasha Romanoff (aka Black Widow) as she confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises.

Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger.

The film will be the first to come from Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and stars Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff, Florence Pugh as her ‘sister’ and fellow Widow Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz as Melina.

It will also feature Ray Winstone, William Hurt, and O-T Fagbenle in the cast.

Black Widow will premiere in theaters on May 1.
