Marvel’s Black Panther movie is hoping to add Star Wars actress Lupita Nyong’o.

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Nyong’o is in talks to star as Black Panther/T’Challa’s (played by Chadwick Boseman) love interest in the upcoming solo Marvel movie. No other information about the character is available at this time, but we assume (or… hope) Marvel will make the character a badass who does way more than offer Black Panther something to look at.

Interestingly, Storm is the wife of Black Panther in the Marvel comics. It’ll be interesting to see if Storm, who’s an X-Men character, comes into the MCU.

Black Panther made his first MCU appearance in this month’s Captain America: Civil War. The Cap threequel briefly introduced us to the African country of Wakanda, which will have a much larger presence in the Black Panther movie.

Creed director Ryan Coogler is set to helm the movie, which is slated to hit theaters in February 2018.

Nyong’o voices Maz Kanata in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and more recently she voiced Raksha in Disney’s The Jungle Book. With Black Panther, Nyong’o herself will actually appear on screen.

If she signs on the dotted line, Nyong’o will be one of very few actors who have prominent roles in the Star Wars and Marvel universes. Another person who recently achieved this: Oscar Isaac, who plays Poe in Star Wars and Apocalypse in X-Men.
