This short three episode series is the perfect fit because it is only 42 minutes long so there is no excuse to not sing along and root for the villain Dr. Horrible and his quest to join the Bad Horse’s Evil League of Evil while simultaneously win the love of the girl of his dreams.

‘Over the Garden Wall’

Over the Garden Wall is an original Cartoon Network mini-series. First of its kind on the channel, this mini-series does not pretend to fit the mold. Do you ever look back at children’s books you grew up with and realize how dark and twisted they are? This mini-series is just that. It’s a simple tale of two brothers lost in the woods, or “The Unknown”. But as the boys wander around looking for help they stumble upon many weird, slightly dark, but also silly and fun situations.

With episodes being around 15 minutes each, this show is great for a quick one and a half hours of entertainment.

‘Fleabag’

Fleabag is a British comedy that feels different than most shows. Although it tells the story that is quite common, the depressed young adult trying to sort themselves out, Fleabag is unique because the forth wall is consistently broken and Fleabag herself is somewhat of an unreliable narrator.

In each of the six episodes, the eccentric and messed-up soul is clearly trying to connect with anyone who is watching in a way that feels very personal. She’s talking to you, just you. But the unspoken reason is because she is very desperately needs someone to listen and understand her.

‘Wolf Creek’

Although streaming is available to only Australians, you can purchase episodes on Amazon. This Australian series is based on the movies Wolf Creek (2005) and Wolf Creek 2 (2013). After surviving an attack by a crazed serial killer, Eve embarks on a mission to seek revenge.

This series is set to be an anthology and its subsequent seasons will follow other victims of the serial killer, Mick Taylor.

‘Torchwood: Children of Earth’

Children of Earth is season 3 of the Doctor Who spin-off, Torchwood. Of course understanding the main character dynamics would be better if you were already familiar with Torchwood, Children of Earth is fascinating enough- and a bit creepy — that it can be watched as a stand alone.

Torchwood: Children of Earth follows the course of five days in which all the children of the Earth become paralyzed in place serval times and begin to speak in unison, giving the warning: “We are coming.”

‘Erased’

This anime is 12 episodes of on-the-edge-of-your-seat mystery. Erased tells the story of Satoru Fujinuma who somehow possesses an ability to be sent back in time only moments before life-threatening incidents. After a tragedy in present day, Satoru is sent back 18 years earlier as an 11 year old boy giving him an opportunity to prevent a kidnapping that happened to three of his classmates.
