Casting for The Divergent Series: Allegiant is clearly underway. Earlier this week we learned Jeff Daniels will play the two-part finale’s villain David, and today we’re learning of a second casting.

Update: Lionsgate has confirmed Skarsgard will be playing Matthew!

Bill Skarsgard — best known for his role in Netflix’s Hemlock Grove as Roman Godfrey — is in talks to play a character who will “share scenes with fellow franchise newcomer Jeff Daniels,” according to The Wrap. While they didn’t specifically name which character Skarsgard will be playing, one could guess it’ll be Matthew.

In the book series by Veronica Roth, Matthew works for the Bureau of Genetic Welfare (the group that created the Chicago experiment) and ends up helping Tris when she needs to stop the bureau from using memory serum. He, Cara, and Caleb also tried to work on a truth serum that would work on Divergents but had no luck. He later makes his way back to Chicago after the [spoiler] of Tris and encounters old friends of hers including Christina.

We’ll hopefully learn who Skarsgard is playing once his casting is formally announced by Lionsgate.

Filming on Allegiant, Part 1 will take place in the coming months under the direction of Insurgent helmer Robert Schwentke. Lionsgate has chosen to shoot Allegiant Part 1 and Part 2 separately, and they haven’t announced who’ll direct the latter.

Allegiant, Part 1 opens in theaters March 2016, with the finale hitting cinemas one year later in March 2017. The series stars Shailene Woodley, Theo James, and Ansel Elgort.

Can you see Matthew in Bill Skarsgard?

And/or do you have another idea as to who Bill could be playing?

And yes, Bill Skarsgard is the brother of True Blood alum Alexander Skarsgard.
