Don’t expect to see Bill Hader’s face when Power Rangers hits theaters in 2017, but it’s likely you’ll hear his voice!

The Power Rangers movie has fans a bit decisive at the moment. The franchise, and its many incarnations, was the basis for much of our childhood fantasies of saving the world from weird evil alien creatures. It was hokey and violent and we loved every minute of it.

So the upcoming movie has a lot to live up to. What we’ve seen of it so far shows an updated version of the Rangers and their gear, for better or for worse.

The costumes have sparked a debate because of their new look, but also because the outfits for the ladies look less than practical.

Despite this, the new movie is aiming to stay as true to its source material as possible, and that includes keeping the iconic character of Alpha 5 on the team. Bill Hader will voice the robot, as was announced via the movie’s official Twitter:

Considering the Tweet used Alpha’s 5’s catchphrase, “Aye-yi-yi!” to make the announcement, you can be guaranteed that particular quirk will have its moment to shine in the movie as well.

A quick glance at the reactions shows that quite a few fans are down for this casting. Hader’s comedic genius is well-known, and if anyone can keep the spirit of Alpha 5 alive, it’s going to be him.

Are you excited Alpha 5 and Bill Hader are joining the ‘Power Rangers’ movie?
