It’s been a big year for television, with characters dying left and right, and in at least one instance, characters coming back to life. Some moments were sad, some were happy, and some were strange, but they all had one thing in common: They got the audience talking.

Take a look at the top 10 biggest TV moments of 2015! Heck, were still not over these.

This article contains spoilers for the following shows: Arrow, The Big Bang Theory, Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, Glee, Grey’s Anatomy, Hannibal, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, The Vampire Diaries, and The Walking Dead.

10) ‘The Walking Dead’ – Garbage Glenn

The Walking Dead kills characters frequently, especially those with heart, so when Nicholas pulled Glenn down into the horde of walkers, many viewers believed Glenn was a goner. They didn’t want to, he’s been a beloved character since the beginning, the idea of losing him now was blasphemous. We waited week after week to find out his fate. It was all anyone could talk about, no matter where you were, so when it was finally revealed that he survived (after having crawled under a garbage box), the world could finally exhale in relief.

9) ‘Arrow’ – Lazarus Pit

It was speculated in 2014 that the Lazarus Pit would be brought into the show, and sure enough, it’s been used twice already this year. The introduction of the pit opened up a whole world of possibilities for the future of the show. While Nyssa may have destroyed the pit, Damien Darhk still has a supply of the water, so it’s entirely possible, nay probable, that the pit isn’t gone for good. With that in mind, we can’t help but think that anytime someone dies there’s a chance they could come back. Heroes and villains alike.

8) ‘Glee’ – Rachel’s happy ending

Rachel Berry had been through so many ups and downs over the years, it was a relief to see Glee end with her getting what she worked so hard for. She won a Tony award, got married (the jury is still out on whether Jesse St. James was the right husband choice), and was even a surrogate for Blaine and Kurt’s future child, who also got married a few episodes prior. It was a long road for Glee fans but fortunately fan favorites Kurt and Rachel got the ending fans (mostly) wanted and it was a sweet way to end the show.

7) ‘The Big Bang Theory’ – Wedding bells

The relationship that’s been brewing since the very first episode finally became as official as it can get. After eight long years, the on-again, off-again relationship finally exchanged vows this year. It wasn’t a huge affair though, as perhaps many fans would have wanted. It was a small, Vegas wedding, in which the rest of the gang didn’t attend, instead watching a live stream gathered around Howard and Bernadette’s living room. But in true Leonard and Penny fashion, Leonard prepared some lovely vows, and Penny, unprepared, quoted Toy Story‘s “You’ve Got A Friend In Me.” It may have been small, but it was still entirely in character, and ultimately, like Leonard and Penny, we’re just glad it finally happened.

6) ‘Doctor Who’ – Goodbye Clara

This marked the end for yet another companion to the Doctor. The Impossible Girl, Clara Oswald, lasted through two regenerations of the Doctor before meeting an end that very much befitted her. Always being able to get out of a scrap was Clara’s specialty, whether it was from luck, logic, or a lent hand. This remained true to the end when Clara didn’t even stay dead. True, she can no longer travel with the Doctor, but she remains immortal for as long as she likes, able to travel in her own TARDIS for as long as she likes. As far as departures go, it’s far from the worst or saddest, but it’s fitting and a relief to not have a depressing end for once.

5) ‘The Vampire Diaries’ – Nina Dobrev departs

When Nina Dobrev announced she’d be leaving The Vampire Diaries, many were saddened to think how the show would go on without Elena. After all, she was the star of the show, the core of the show, for all intents and purposes, as much of The Vampire Diaries was about Elena’s life. Nina not only played Elena brilliantly, but she also really showed off her acting abilities by playing other characters as well, like the ever snarky Katherine. It was a tough time for Vampire Diaries fans, and a bit of a shock, but naturally fans were gracious of the time they had with Nina, and wished her all the best in her future endeavors.

4) ‘Hannibal’ – Love story for the ages

Fans couldn’t have asked for a better conclusion to the story of Hannibal Lecter and Will Graham. Those few years fans spent shipping them and being teased about their love for each other finally came to a head when they basically admitted that they loved each other (in their own complicated way). Emotions were pushed over the edge. In the final moments, Will and Hannibal worked together to take down Dolarhyde, and just to complete their complex relationship, Will then grabbed Hannibal and threw both of them over the cliff. Are either of them dead or alive? Who knows. Yet somehow the ambiguity is fitting.

3) ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’ – ‘Peeno Noir’

Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt was a breakout hit, largely thanks to the exuberant character Titus Andromedon, and Titus was never loved more than when he made a music video starring himself, titled “Peeno Noir.” It was a huge hit, having gone viral and made its way onto the screens of those who hadn’t even watched Kimmy Schmidt. In true Titus fashion, it was peculiar, random, and extravagant (or at least, the outfits were extravagant). It is both the best and worst music video you will ever see. Never change, Titus, never change.

2) ‘Game of Thrones’ – Jon Snow ‘dies’

The biggest cliffhanger of the year goes to Game of Thrones for (maybe) killing Jon Snow. It’s true Game of Thrones isn’t new to murdering major characters but this death is different. Despite multiple cast and crew insisting he’s dead, it is widely speculated that Jon will survive, or at least, will be brought back to life in the new season. Hopefully Melisandre will finally prove her worth and the Red God will give her the power to resurrect him. But only time will tell!

1) ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ – McDreamy dreams for eternity

Many hearts broke on that fateful episode of Grey’s Anatomy earlier this year. The shock was like being hit by a truck; it was both sudden and tragic, seemingly to have come out of nowhere, and difficult to process. Fans were all in denial together, and when acceptance sunk in, they even protested together. Of course it was all in vain, and Derek did, in fact, stay dead. The Meredith/Derek romance has finally reached a conclusion, only it’s probably not the kind of conclusion anybody had in mind. Sweet dreams, McDreamy.
