‘Big Mouth’ season 4 premiere date

Big Mouth season 1 premiered on September 29, 2017, while season 2 hit Netflix on October 5, 2018 and season 3 peremiered on October 4, 2019.

If all goes according to plan, this means we can mostly likely expect the Big Mouth season 4 release date to be between late September and early October 2020.

This also means that, barring any major delays or adjustments to the schedule, we’ll be getting some Big Mouth on our screens through Fall 2022, when season 6 finally lands.

‘Big Mouth’ season 4 trailer

As of right now, we do not have a Big Mouth season 4 trailer! The Big Mouth Twitter account didn’t drop the season 3 trailer until about a month ahead of the release date, so we have a bit of wait ahead of us.

For now, enjoy the announcement that season 3 is now streaming:

‘Big Mouth’ season 4 plot wishlist

Big Mouth’s season 3 finale ended with everyone going off in separate directions. Missy is now single, Jay came out as bisexual, Jessi could be moving away, and Nick and Andrew are no longer friends.

I have no doubt everyone will end up coming back together, but how many of those wounds can be healed over the summer?

But what about Big Mouth season 4 and beyond?

The show has done a phenomenal job of lifting up its female characters and tackling issues that women face all too frequently. The show manages to teach some serious lessons about consent and slut shaming (just to name a few) while remaining absolutely hilarious.

Season 3 didn’t let me down, and I definitely want this trend to continue.

Moving forward, it’ll be interesting to see how the core group of Nick, Andrew, and Jessi will fare. I don’t see the show breaking up the trio permanently, but it sounds like it’s going to be tough for them to come back together next year. Maybe Jessi’s mom will decide not to move away, and maybe Andrew and Nick can eventually work things out.

I know Andrew decided not to be friends with Nick anymore because he’s supposedly not a good person or a good influence, but I also need Andrew to confront his own shortcomings. He made some major mistakes with Missy this year, and while I think he recognized what he did wrong, he still has a long way to go before the two of them can be friends again.

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times: Jay continues to be the most surprising character on Big Mouth. I loved how he came out as bisexual, even if it didn’t exactly go according to plan. The scenes with him and Missy writing fanfiction were some of the best in season 3, and I hope the show continues to explore Jay’s sexuality and his friendship with the others.

If season 3 suffered anywhere, it was the introduction of new creatures. We got the Menopause Banshee, but I’d love to meet more of the Department of Puberty and the monsters who live there. Then again, maybe that’s what we’ll be getting out of Human Resources!

To make up for this shortcoming, we did get some great new characters and cameos this seasons. Ali Wong starred as Ali, a pansexual girl, while Thandie Newton played Missy’s Hormone Monstress and the Fab Five themselves brought Queer Eye to the animated series.

Here’s to hoping we’ll have plenty of new characters and cameos in Big Mouth season 4.
