Big Brother season 16, episode 24 just finished airing and the week 8 nominations have taken place! Read our recap to find out what happened.
After Derrick and Frankie win HoH, talk quickly turns to nominations. Derrick plots to get Zach to volunteer to go up. Caleb thinks Cody should volunteer to go up since he hasn’t been nominated yet.
Derrick and Frankie decide not to nominate Victoria. She’s surprised and elated not to be nominated for once.
Up in the new HoH rooms, Frankie is excited to be able to show recent pictures with Ariana. And Derrick gets new pictures of his daughter. The letters are from Derrick’s wife and Frankie’s sister.
Donny pulls Derrick aside, hoping the Team America alliance will help him. Derrick lies and says he’s not their target. He says Donny may have to go up so that no one suspects them. Donny isn’t sure if he can really trust Derrick or not.
In the diary room Derrick gets a new mission for Team America. They must create a distraction by hiding a piece of clothing from each house guest then create a neighborhood watch that is active for 24 hours. He tells Frankie and Donny, who get excited for the fun mission.
Instead of making alliance members upset, Frankie and Derrick decide to hold a meeting to decide who should be nominated alongside Donny. Frankie pitches the plan to them to have Donny go up with an alliance member against two other alliance members. Zach says he doesn’t want to go up, Caleb says he’s gone up enough, Christine isn’t keen on it, Cody states he doesn’t know how to throw a comp.
After much arguing, they decide to make the nomination choices with skittles. They pull Christine to go up with Donny (and throw the comp), Cody and Caleb get picked to go up opposite them.
The other house guests discuss Cody and Christine’s relationship since she’s married. They all feel it’s a little weird that they’re always touching. Donny is amazed how much Christine plays with Cody’s hair.
Caleb tells Derrick and Cody he’s worried that Zach will target them if he wins HoH next week. They talk about him not pulling his weight in the alliance and being their target instead of Donny.
Derrick and Frankie tell Donny that they decided to pick the nominations this week by pulling skittles. They say that all the nominations were pulled randomly out of a hat. They also claim that the only reason he wasn’t present at the drawing was because he was asleep. Donny is sure they don’t see him as a valuable member of Team America.
At the nominations meeting, Derrick nominates Donny and Christine. Frankie nominates Caleb and Cody.
At the Battle of the Block competition, the teams must enter the black box and race to find hidden bones. They must return it to their team board, and they may only transport one bone at a time.
Caleb and Cody’s strategy is to stick together and look for bones. Donny uses one hand to navigate and the other to look for bones. Christine walks around aimlessly and says, “Where am I?” At one point Christine even hands off a bone to Caleb but luckily it’s not a fit. Once Donny has his fourth bone, he realizes that Christine isn’t helping and throwing the competition. He manages to find his last bone before Caleb and Cody.
Donny and Christine are off the block and Derrick is dethroned as HoH. Frankie is happy to be safe as HoH, but Caleb and Cody are still up on the block. Things are about to get tricky for The Detonators!
