Big Brother season 16, episode 17 just finished airing and the fifth eviction has been revealed! Read our recap to find out what happened.

Amber immediately knows that her nomination was planned. However, she says that Zach didn’t get under her skin with his speech. Christine seems to sympathize with her. When Amber asks Frankie why Zach couldn’t go up, he doesn’t respond. He does blame Caleb for her nomination though.

Caleb seems to still think that Amber is safe despite being nominated. Little does he know the real plan. Amber goes to confront him and he admits to wanting her on the block. He blames the fact that she’s been hanging out with non-alliance members. When it’s clear he’s not getting it, she leaves.

Afterwards he seems to realize what she was saying and apologizes to her. He even admits that everyone else knew she was being nominated, which is news to her. When she says she would never nominate him he’s crushed.

Trying to make things right, Caleb goes to talk to Frankie. He says that she doesn’t deserve to be up on the block. So Frankie goes along with it and says he will feel bad if she goes home. As Caleb cries, Frankie tries to comfort him.

Later Amber is talking with Zach, Cody, Derrick, and Christine when they ask her if she likes Caleb. She starts crying and has to leave the room. Christine goes after her and Amber explains that she can’t help that she doesn’t have feelings for Caleb. And she doesn’t understand the way he’s treating her.

So now Christine thinks they should keep Amber and use her to target Caleb. She tells Derrick and Frankie but they think it’s better to use the information against Amber. When Frankie tells Caleb he freaks out and storms out of the HoH room.

Team America gets their next mission! Derrick finds out that they must vote against the majority of the house and publicly accuse two others. Donny isn’t happy about the mission – he doesn’t want to call others out. He suggests to Derrick and Frankie that they decline the mission. He thinks people would know it’s out of his character and become suspicious.

Before eviction Amber and Jocasta get a chance to speak for themselves. Amber wants to thank her family and says Jocasta is amazing. She also says she loves everyone more than she expected. Also that she’s honest and loyal so they should vote for her to stay. Jocasta thanks God and her family. She tells the house guests that she’s trustworthy, loves them, and prays for them every night.

The eviction votes go as follows:

Hayden votes for: Amber
Victoria votes for: Amber
Donny votes for: Amber
Derrick votes for: Amber
Zach votes for: Amber
Caleb votes for: Amber
Christine votes for: Amber
Cody votes for: Amber
Nicole votes for: Amber

With another unanimous vote, Amber is evicted from the house. Speaking with Julie, Amber says she feels most betrayed by Caleb. When she says she wasn’t going to pretend to like him for money, she gets a round of applause. However, she says she wasn’t surprised everyone voted for her to leave. Amber explains that she didn’t blow up anyone’s game because she wanted to prove her loyalty even leaving the house.

Before the Head of Household competition, the house guests watched videos of themselves in various competitions. They have to study them as clues for the HoH competition. In “Getting Loopy,” the house guests have to answer true or false to questions based on the videos they watched. If they are wrong they will be eliminated. The last two will win HoH.

Jocasta is the first eliminated, Victoria/Christine/Derrick are eliminated next, then Cody is eliminated. However, the show runs out of time before the competition is completed!
