CBS is gearing up to send The Big Bang Theory off in style.

Fans of The Big Bang Theory have had quite some time to deal with the fact that the long-standing CBS comedy will soon be coming to an end.

But in case you need just a bit more TBBT in your life after the series comes to a close later next month, CBS has got you covered.

According to The Wrap, the network announced on Monday (April 29) that they will officially be airing a behind the scenes special on the beloved sitcom. The special is set to premiere one hour after TBBT’s final episode airs.

Titled, Unraveling the Mystery: A Big Bang Farewell, the one-hour special is set to be hosted by series stars Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco, who play Leonard and Penny, respectively.

CBS promises the series will feature the actors sharing “some of the best kept backstage secrets” of the show, and will additionally give fans a look at where the magic happens: Warner Bros.’ Stage 25 — the sound stage where the series films, which was recently renamed “The Big Bang Theory Stage.”

The upcoming farewell special may mark the end of a 12 season journey, but there’s one TBBT character who will be sticking around at CBS for quite some time.

Earlier this year, the network announced that they have officially picked up TBBT offshoot, Young Sheldon, for seasons 3 and 4.

The prequel spinoff, which serves as an origin story for fan favorite Sheldon Cooper, has been dominating in the ratings since it premiered two years ago.

With that in mind, it’s not surprising to hear CBS made big moves to make sure the sit-com would be sticking around on their television slate through the 2020-2021 season.

Unraveling the Mystery will air on Thursday, May 16, at 10 p.m., followed by Young Sheldon‘s season 2 finale, which airs at 9 p.m.

The hour-long series finale of The Big Bang Theory is scheduled to air earlier that same night at 8 p.m. on CBS.
