February’s Super Bowl XLVII will see Beyonce take the stage for the always-anticipated halftime show, reports the Associated Press.

UPDATE: Beyonce has confirmed the news by releasing the above teaser image.

The announcement is expected from the NFL tomorrow, Wednesday. The information was given by an anonymous source to the AP this morning.

Beyonce gave birth to her and Jay-Z’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter in January of this year. She is reportedly working on two new albums. One of those we imagine may be released around the time of the Super Bowl to ride her worldwide publicity wave. Her most recent studio album, 4, was released in June 2011.

We’ll pass along the formal announcement if and when it becomes official tomorrow.

This year’s Super Bowl featured Madonna alongside a slew of other performers including LMFAO, Cirque du Soleil, Nicki Minaj, M.I.A., and Cee Lo Green. 2011’s Super Bowl was helmed by The Black Eyed Peas, Usher, and Slash. 2010’s only featured The Who. There’s no word yet if Beyonce will employ other performers alongside her, though we would not be surprised to see Jay-Z make a cameo.

Super Bowl XLVII will be held February 3, 2013 and be broadcast on CBS in the United States.

Is Beyonce a good Super Bowl halftime show choice?
