J. Balvin’s “Mi Gente” just got a very special remix, featuring none other than Beyonce!

Fans of Beyonce have plenty to be happy about this week on New Music Friday.

On Thursday (September 28) night, the “Partition” singer teamed up with J. Balvin and Willy William to drop a surprise remix of the duo’s hot summer track, “Mi Gente.”

The infectiously catchy song features Queen Bey singing in Spanish and marks the powerhouse vocalist’s first new track since she gave birth to her twins earlier this summer. That’s not the reason why the song is so special though.

In addition to releasing the track, Beyonce took to Instagram to reveal that she intends to donate her proceeds of the remix to help the people of Puerto Rico, Mexico, and other Caribbean Islands who have recently been affected by natural disasters.

“I am donating my proceeds from this song to hurricane relief charities for Puerto Rico, Mexico and the other affected Caribbean islands,” wrote Bey via Instagram. “To help go to Beyonce.com/reliefefforts”.

Beyonce isn’t the only singer who’ll be helping Puerto Rico through music.

On Thursday, Hamilton mastermind Lin-Manuel Miranda took to Twitter to let fans know that he’s in the midst of working on a track, the proceeds of which will go to Puerto Rico hurricane relief.

“Back in NY. @Nas gave me this. Tonight I’ll use it to record demo vocals for this new [Puerto Rico] tune,” tweeted Miranda. “All I need is one…”

So when can we expect Miranda’s new track to drop? It sounds like it’ll be in our hands by next week if he’s able to pull off all of the last minute vocals!

“Got all the messes we wanted for this [Puerto Rico] tune & then some. Running around the country this weekend to get vocals. To you: end of next week?” tweeted Miranda.

From there, Miranda made sure to keep fans updated via the social media platform, sharing footage of both Ruben Blades and Anthony Ramos in the studio recording their parts of the song.

We’re looking forward to seeing what Lin-Manuel Miranda comes up with, but until then, we’ll be bopping to Beyonce, J. Balvin and Willy William’s “Mi Gente”— after all, it’s for a good cause!
