Beyoncé will give fans an intimate look at her life in a new HBO documentary set for a February premiere.

Directed and executive produced by the former Destiny’s Child star herself, the documentary film will incorporate first-person footage shot from Beyonce’s laptop, giving fans a look at the 16-time Grammy winner’s personal life.

“HBO has a history of pushing every boundary with class and authenticity,” Beyoncé said in a statement. “Some of my favorite shows are on HBO, so I am excited that my film will be part of its bold programming. This film was so personal to me, it had to have the right home.”

Debuting on Feb. 16, the documentary will touch on Beyonce’s childhood in Houston and the balancing act that is her life as a superstar and mother.

“Everybody knows Beyoncé’s music, but few know Beyoncé the person,” said President of HBO Programming Michael Lombardo. “Along with electrifying footage of Beyoncé onstage, this unique special looks beyond the glamour to reveal a vibrant, vulnerable, unforgettable woman.”

Queen Bey will perform during the Super Bowl XLVII half time show Feb. 3 on CBS, just days before the premiere of her documentary. She returned to the stage for the first time since giving birth to Blue Ivy with several Memorial Weekend shows in Atlantic City where she performed many of her hits, including “Single Ladies,” “Halo” and “Crazy In Love,” and paid tribute to Whitney Houston.

Over the Thanksgiving weekend, the singer wished her fans a happy holiday and shared pictures of baby Blue Ivy, on her website. None of the pictures show the baby’s face, but they’re endearing nonetheless.
