Good news for those hoping to see Breaking Bad-level television on the upcoming spinoff Better Call Saul: Two of the show’s higher-ups have transferred to the new team.

Thomas Schnauz and Gennifer Hutchison have joined Saul creator Peter Gould as co-executive producer and supervising producer respectively, Variety reports. On Breaking Bad, Schnauz was co-exec producer and Hutchison was one of the show’s writers.

While we don’t expect Better Call Saul to live up to the intensity and brilliant writing of Breaking Bad, we’re glad to see that much of the original team believes in the new project and wants to be a part of it. Series creator Vince Gilligan noted earlier this year that one of the reasons he’s so excited about Saul is it’ll bring the original Bad crew back together in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Earlier this month we shared the first synopsis for Better Call Saul which confirms it’s a prequel and offers other light spoilers. The show will follow colorful lawyer Saul Goodman “in the years before he became Walter White’s attorney. From parking tickets to mass murder, from slip-and-fall to bond fraud, Saul handles it all.”

On the same day the synopsis was shared, we learned that the show will air in 2014. After the season 1 finale, all episodes will be available on Netflix.

We presume it is slated for a summer premiere since Breaking Bad aired during the middle of the year on AMC.

Breaking Bad’s season finale was in late September.
