The Evil Within is a violent horror game published by Bethesda, who’ve also brought us games like Skyrim and Fallout: New Vegas. Watch the horrifying announcement trailer here!

IGN has the exclusive announcement for The Evil Within, a game that features heavy horror elements and intense violence.

The live-action announcement trailer is extremely NSFW, and shouldn’t be watched by anyone that’s squeamish.

Although no gameplay is shown of The Evil Within, the live-action trailer shows off some of the horror aspects that players can expect.

The trailer kicks off with Bach’s “Air on the G String,” a pointer to one of the Vine teasers that Bethesda released in the build-up to this announcement.

The antagonist seems to be a The Ring-esque woman with four arms, and who is covered in blood. For whatever reason (perhaps to protect themselves from her), a man who may be the main character is shown clipping together barbed wiring.

Other horrors of the trailer include someone with a “vault head,” oozing blood pools, and many-a creeping shadows.

IGN describes The Evil Within as “the first game from Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami’s studio Tango Gameworks.” Little else is known about the game at the time being, other than it being a “survival-horror game.”

The Evil Within looks like it has a lot of potential to be fun. However, as often happens in the horror/survival genre (we’re looking at you, Resident Evil 6), the horror aspects of this game could be overdone.

The game is due out on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in 2014. More information will be announced for the game on Monday, April 22 on IGN.
