Cumberbitches are slowly but surely losing their claim over Benedict Cumberbatch. The actor and fiancée Sophie Hunter are reportedly expecting their first baby.

Update (9:30 a.m. pacific): Reps for Cumberbatch confirm to The Daily Mail that Hunter is pregnant! “‘I am delighted to confirm that Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are expecting their first child. They are both over the moon,'” the rep said in a statement.

First he gets engaged, now this?

Two months after announcing in a newspaper his plan to marry, Page Six now reports that Hunter is “a few months” into her pregnancy.

Dad is reportedly “delighted and excited.”

In light of the pregnancy, Cumberbatch and Hunter are aiming to get married within the next few months.

Rumors about Hunter’s pregnancy began last weekend at the Palm Springs Film Festival, where some onlookers with perhaps a little too much time on their hands speculated that the wife-to-be was covering her baby bump using her handbag. The couple were attending a red carpet event in support of the actor’s Golden Globe-nominated film The Imitation Game:

Cumberbatch just started shooting the new series of Sherlock on Wednesday in Bristol, England. They are filming a special episode (which is rumored to air on Christmas) before they begin work on series 4 which consists of three 90-minute episodes.

There’s no word yet if the upcoming Cumberbaby will have a role as Sherlock in a flashback sequence during series 8.
