The first image from The Imitation Game starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley has been released.

Co-starring Keira Knightley, Matthew Goode, Mark Strong and Charles Dance, the film focuses on Alan Turing, who received a Royal Pardon this past Tuesday. Turing was an English mathematician and logician.

He would later help crack the Enigma code during World War II. Check out the first still from the film below:

The Sherlock star plays mathematician and codebreaker Alan Turing, who was prosecuted for being homosexual and would eventually (spoiler) commit suicide via cyanide.

Actress Keira Knightley co-stars alongside Cumberbatch, which will be her most anticipated role since Anna Karenina. The Imitation Game was directed by Morten Tyldum, whose most recent film was Headhunters.

Oscar-winning editor William Goldenberg (Argo) and composer Clint Mansell (Black Swan) will help bring the World War II codebreaker’s story to life.

The Wrap reports that Black Bear Pictures and Bristol Automotive produced the film, which is currently being finalized. U.S. distribution has yet to be acquired. The film is expected to be quite popular given the actors involved and the potential for awards.

The Imitation Game will hit theaters in mid 2014.
