Ben Platt won our hearts in the musical Dear Evan Hansen, but he’s set out on his own to bring us his first solo album this spring.

The Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen has been a complete smash hit since opening on the Great White Way. And in addition to the show earning a special place in our hearts, the musical’s lead actor, Ben Platt has also shot into superstardom.

So it’s no surprise that when Platt announced he would be finishing his run on Dear Evan Hansen in November of 2017, fans were desperate to hear him sing for us again. Thankfully, he promised us a solo album, and according to Broadway.com, he’s officially announced the album’s release date.

Platt’s full solo album, titled Sing To Me Instead is set to release on March 29, with 2 new songs releasing on February 1. Sing To Me Instead will also be available for pre-order starting on February first. Platt dropped the album news on his Twitter, along with a peek at what appears to be the album’s cover.

In addition to his new record, Platt is also set to start in the new Ryan Murphy comedy, The Politician, which co-stars Laura Dreyfuss and Jessica Lange. The show is said to have musical numbers throughout, so it will be the perfect place for Platt.

The Politician will premiere later in 2019, and be sure to mark your calendar for March 29 for the release of Sing To Me Instead.
