With all the Clexa drama that’s been monopolizing the majority of The 100 season 3’s focus so far, our favorite bad boy hasn’t gotten the attention he deserves.

First of all, we should address that we are LOVING everything that The 100 season 3 is dishing up so far, especially as far as the conflict between Clarke and Lexa and all the Grounder faction drama as well. If we could make one wish come true, though, it would be for Bellamy to be as involved in making peace as Clarke. After all, The 100 (the show or the group of teens) wouldn’t have survived without both of them.

From Criminal to Dependable: The Bellamy Blake Story

When season 1 began, Bellamy Blake was not an easy character to love. He shot Jaha, came to Earth with an agenda, and basically made Clarke’s life a living hell. He was designed to be hated… and then he grew. He grew into a leader that doesn’t have selfish agendas. He realized that survival required all of them working together, and he stopped working against Clarke. It became clear that this guy was only guilty of doing whatever it took to reunite with his sister. Jaha’s pardoning of Bellamy’s crimes was the final straw we needed to forgive him for his early mistakes.

Throughout season 2, Bellamy learned how to work with Kane, rather than against him, and eventually became the most trusted of Clarke’s confidants. He alone got into the Mountain to orchestrate the Grounder/Arker movements inside, he just didn’t get to employ most of his hard work thanks to Lexa’s betrayal.

This season, Bellamy hasn’t had as active a role in the peace-making, as he and the other Arkadians have been pre-occupied with finding Clarke. That fact is only compounded when Indra tells them that Clarke is being hunted for her power. He is so desperate to find Clarke that he is willing to risk life and limb to get her back alive. She’s his closest friend, and the only person who has ever really tried to understand him.

Will he get off the sidelines this season?

Poor Bellamy has had the pleasure of holding down the ‘B’ storyline so far in season 3. The premiere had him chasing around after Clarke while she rocked our world killing panthers in her bright red hair. The second episode showed us just how desperate he was to get Clarke back to safety when he donned Ice Nation garb and passed unnoticed through an army of thousands.

Seeing his dedication to bringing Clarke home safely has reminded all the viewers of just how much her absence has affected him. Now, we are ready to see Bellamy take the reins and get some control back. The trailer we got for The 100 season 3, episode 4 gave us a little more to hope for as far as Bellamy’s storyline goes, and this tweet from Jo Garfein of The Dropship podcast all but solidifies our anticipation, especially because it was retweeted by Jason Rothenberg himself.

So, it certainly seems that while Bellamy hasn’t been as active a player so far in season 3, that won’t be the case for much longer. We are eager to see him get involved in either trying to prevent this pending Grounder war or throw his lot in with Pike and get some revenge. Oh, and at some point we’re going to need to see him and Clarke have a heart to heart, because he deserves a chance to tell her just how much her need to run hurt him.

Are you excited to see Bellamy get more involved in ‘The 100’ season 3?
