Anxious fans got to see the first trailer for the fourth series of ‘Being Human’ today! Watch the 40 second teaser below, which promises that the “stakes are high[er]” for this series.

The stakes aren’t the only thing that are changing, as the show begins its fourth year on air. Three main cast members have left the show, two of which will not be making any appearances in the new episodes. First we had the tragic departure of Mitchell (Aidan Turner) at the end of the series 3. Then, Russell Tovey, who plays George, revealed that he would be leaving the show (although he will be making an appearance in the new series). And finally, Sinead Keenan (Nina) said on Twitter that she too had left the show. That leaves Lenora Crichlow (who plays ghost Annie), the only original cast member in a lead role for Series 4.

Toby Whithouse, creator of the show, has promised fans that they are taking the show to new places and to new heights. But will fans be able to connect with the new characters? True, we have seen a bit of werewolf Tom (from Series 3, who will now be in a lead role), but new vampire Hal is unexplored territory. We get a glimpse of his character in this prequel.

Fans reacted very strongly after the loss of Mitchell, so can the new storylines and characters keep the faithful appeased? I have faith in the writers’ talent and think that now is the perfect opportunity for something fresh and new on the show. Do you think fans will love or loath the new series?

Series 4 of ‘Being Human’ premieres on BBC America on February 25th.
