Karina Halle has brought another intense contemporary romance with Before I Ever Met You with a storyline that makes it impossible to put down once you’ve started reading.

About ‘Before I Ever Met You’:

I first met William McAlister when I was just a teenager.

He was handsome, had a beautiful wife and was on the verge of success, having just joined my father as his business partner. Mr. McAlister was full of smooth charm, but back then he was barely a blip on my radar. Just a family friend.

Fast forward ten years: I’m 25 years old and a single mom trying to make things right for her seven-year old son. I’ve made some mistakes, grappled with my demons and now I’m back in the city of Vancouver, getting a second chance at a better life.

I’ve started by working for my father’s production company as an executive assistant. My first day on the job and I already know I could have a promising career there.
That is until I see Will McAlister for the first time in a decade.

Now recently divorced and as sophisticated as always, Will has gone from being my father’s friend and business partner to something so much more.

We’re both older, for one thing, and he just oozes this worldly confidence and stark sexuality. Combined with his tall, muscular build and sharp suits, strong jaw and bedroom eyes, Will has turned into one hell of a distraction.

A distraction I’m having a hard time staying away from, considering his office is right across from my desk and I work with him in such close proximity.

But it’s just a harmless crush, right?

It’s just an innocent fantasy of screwing him on his desk, right?

It can’t ever be more because he’s my father’s best friend, business partner, and my boss.

Right?

Wrong.

Before I Ever Met You is a contemporary romance in an urban office setting. It does not contain any cheating.

‘Before I Ever Met You’ review:

Before I really get into Before I Ever Met You let me just rave about Karina Halle for a moment. It’s pretty rare that I find an author I’m confident in saying that I’ll enjoy anything they write about. Karina Halle is one of those authors, and although I haven’t been able to read everything she’s written (if only I had more hours in the day) I have thorough enjoyed everything I’ve ever read by her. She’s got quite the diversity in her novels, but it seems like any plot she touches turns to gold.

Before I Ever Met You isn’t like any of the books I’ve read by Karina Halle before. Usually I don’t enjoy novels that pair up a younger woman with an older man but I was totally enamored by this couple. At first glance they might seem all wrong for one another, but they just get each other and their chemistry is off the charts.

Another thing that makes Before I Ever Met You a little different from other romance novels is that Will is a man with charism and class. He manages to show the up most respect to Jackie one moment and talk dirty to her the next. Will McAlister makes chivalry look like the sexiest attribute any guy can have, and proves that it doesn’t make him weak.

Jackie, although having made some terrible decisions early on her life, is a force to be reckoned with. Yes, she does need a little help from those around her, but she only accepts the help that she really needs. Jackie isn’t a girl looking for handouts and she definitely isn’t interested in anyone for the amount of money they have. She wants to work hard, take care of her son, and have the happiness that everyone else deserves. It takes her a little while how to figure it all out, but it’s amazing to watch her grow as she learns how to achieve all her dreams.

Will and Jackie’s chemistry, that they try and deny for quite some time, leaves the reader on the edge of their seat throughout the novel. It felt like they tried to stay away from one another just long enough to keep things interesting, and when they did finally get together I was in constant anticipation of when they would get some alone time. On top of the sizzling chemistry, there are some great moments of comic relief that are like the bow on top of an already perfect present.

This is honestly the type of novel that you can go back and read several times over and not get bored. Plus, with some very interesting secondary characters the novel will leave you hoping for even more. I don’t think there are any plans to turn this into a sequel, but it totally could become one with all the plots going on behind the scenes that don’t get touched on.

To summarize, Before I Ever Met You is a must read!

Before I Ever Met You by Karina Halle is available now on iBooks, Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and Kobo!
