The Wizarding World of Harry Potter’s forthcoming Diagon Alley land will include at least one reference to The Tales of Beedle the Bard, according to a permit filing.

Universal Orlando has filed a permit for a food area with the name “FOUNTIAN OF FAIR FORTUNE/FLOREAN FORTESCUE’S,” suggesting that the Tales of Beedle the Bard fountain will appear in front of an ice cream shop within Diagon Alley.

Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour was seen in the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling and was owned by Florean, who Harry says used to give him free ice cream. He was an expert on medieval witch burnings. It did not make a prominent appearance in the movies.

The Fountain of Fair Fortune and Florean’s ice cream shop have no direct relation to one another, but we’re pleased to see that a reference to Beedle the Bard is poised to make an appearance in the Orlando Harry Potter theme park.

Beedle is a compilation of short stories written by J.K. Rowling and released to benefit a charity in December 2007. In the “Fountain of Fair Fortune” story, the titular fountain allows one person a year to bathe within it to have their problems fixed.

This likely won’t be the last time we see references to other aspects of the Wizarding World realm included in the parks. When the Harry Potter spinoff movie series was announced earlier this year, Warner Bros. noted that future theme park projects could include the Fantastic Beasts world.

Universal Orlando is expected to make a couple of Harry Potter announcements today. If they do, we’ll share them with you straight away.

Thanks to the eagle-eyed readers of Orlando United for the tip.
